Three approaches to the decisions ahead
- Do nothing
- Take isolated action
- Follow a proactive tax plan
01 / The owner’s context
Advanced strategies need a plan that fits the owner.
A strategy should make sense for your business, your available cash, and the life you want to build. We evaluate those connections before recommending a course of action.
Planning shaped around your priorities
Consider tax opportunities alongside your ownership, lifestyle, time commitments, and long-term goals.
New opportunities evaluated before you commit
Bring a proposed purchase, investment, or business decision into the planning conversation while there is still room to evaluate the alternatives.

Business and personal planning considered together03 / Examples of analysis
See how we approach consequential decisions.
Tax planning becomes more useful when the business decision and the owner’s circumstances are evaluated together. The second example considers a proposed investment opportunity and the different tax positions involved.
Staffing business • Performance and property planning
CASE 01Connecting business performance with an office purchase
Situation
The owners of a staffing business needed a consolidated view of company performance and a clearer understanding of the decisions available to them.
Our analysis
We reviewed the business’s KPIs and operating levers, brought the company’s performance into a consolidated view, and evaluated an office purchase as part of its tax planning.
Alongside the potential tax effects, we considered how ownership-related monthly cash outflows could compare with existing rent and how the property could support a long-term goal of owning a paid-off business asset.
Planning significance
The review connected current business performance, the proposed property commitment, and the owners’ longer-term priorities.
Example of analysis performed. No completed purchase, realized tax savings, matched monthly payment, or future payoff is claimed.
Multiple partners • Investment and tax analysis
CASE 02One deal. Different tax implications for each partner.
Situation
A proposed multipartner deal was expected to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses for each partner.
Our analysis
We evaluated the deal’s underlying economics and examined the potential tax effect for each individual partner, including whether anticipated losses would be treated as active or passive and whether the partners could use them.
Planning significance
The group needed to assess both the transaction itself and how differences between the partners’ tax positions could affect the proposed benefits.
Losses were projected as part of a proposed transaction. They are not presented as realized losses, usable deductions, or tax savings.
Examples of analysis, not independently verified endorsements.
